Learn to prepare an authentic Gambian meal and discover the secrets of Gambian cuisine. We start the workshop by doing some shopping at the market, where we will buy the necessary ingredients such as spices, fish, meat, and vegetables.

You will see that the colorful market is mainly run by women.

After that, you will meet a family in a compound. We will tell you more about life in the village and the compound. The women of the family where you will be a guest will teach you how to cook, and you will be actively involved in preparing the dishes.

Once the meal is ready, you will enjoy Gambian dishes with the family. Don’t be surprised if you all eat from a large plate and use your hands!
