During this tour, you will experience the authentic daily life of Gambians. After breakfast, we will visit a Gambian family in their compound, where you will get a glimpse into their daily routines and way of living.
We will then drive to a nearby village and visit an elementary school (please note that this is not possible on weekends or during school holidays). You will have the opportunity to meet the teachers and students, and if you’re lucky, you may even get the chance to teach the students something new!
Then we go to Brikama where we visit a colorful market. Many Gambians do their shopping here. Everything is for sale: vegetables, fruit, fish, clothes, shoes, and so on. Many of the products are intended for the local population, but there are also trinkets for sale for tourists.
We have lunch on the beach. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Gambia outside the busy tourist strip. After lunch you can relax on the beach, but you can also stretch your legs.
We leave the beach and drive to the fishing village of Tanji. Fishermen return from the sea to sell their catch on the beach. You will be amazed at the different types of fish. One of the largest fish is the barracuda.
After this beautiful day we drive to the lodge.
